Below Grade Application and why you want it in your custom-built home.

Energy efficiency requirements are always increasing in all types of buildings.

Since uninsulated concrete provides a thermal bridge between a building’s heated interior and the relatively cooler earth surrounding the building or through exposed slab edges to the outside air, blocking that heat flow with EPS insulation is critical for creating a comfortable, energy-prudent structure.

Prevents Radon gas, which is a colorless, odorless, radioactive gas and is the second leading cause of lung cancer.

This application provides a continuous, air-impermeable water-resistant layer of insulation around the entire perimeter of the building.

Another advantage of this application is the fact that spray foam will penetrate the crushed stone sub-base for about ½’’. The foam when applied is liquid and will penetrate the gravel to seal everything.

At certain areas, there will be more foam and the insulation value will therefore be increased. It makes the assembly very compact without leaving any air space between the insulation and the crushed stone subbase, thus preventing the foam from cracking when walked Upon.
